Developing the learning and teaching of times-tables

  • Unipart HouseCo Garsington Road Oxford, England, OX4 United Kingdom (map)

Ahead of the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) being fully implemented with Year 4 children in June, 2020, join this practical workshop with Nathan Crook to develop understanding about how pupils can be encouraged to learn times-table facts with understanding over time.

A range of ideas will be provided, which will aim to ensure learning and teaching approaches are developed that use manipulatives, models and images to illustrate multiplication facts alongside connected division ones. In addition, participants will elicit how an assortment of engaging games can be introduced that allow children to apply use of these facts with flexibility as part of the learning process.

Consequently, this workshop will be relevant to both Key Stage 1 and 2 teachers, as well as maths subject-leaders, who need to determine a consistent approach to the learning and teaching of times-tables in their school.

Bookings: Participants can register by clicking here, whilst enquiries can be made by e-mailing: nathan@njcedmaths.co.uk

Cost: £60 per person
