This interactive workshop will explore key aspects of the new Early Years framework for mathematics whilst making connections with the latest research that has been used to inform its development. In addition, useful diagnostics that allow children to be assessed as they develop secure foundations in their initial journey towards attaining Early Learning Goals by the end of Reception will be exemplified.

By the end of the training participants will acquire ideas about direct teaching excercises that are linked with both number and shape/space. these involve a range of resources being utilised and offer different points of inclusive access to learning for children associated with established ttrajectories. guidance for working alongside parents to best support children will also be given.
