An interactive workshop to explore use of technical maths language that will enhance talk
Children learn to reason mathematically when accessing the primary national curriculum. They need to develop maths talk in order to be able to both conjecture and generalise about mathematical relationships, and this hands-on workshop will explore use of technical maths language to make children's talk as succinct as possible.
This event will take place via Zoom and is suitable for Maths Subject Leaders, Primary Teachers and Primary Teaching Assistants.

This interactive training session will focus on the value of adults modelling mathematical thinking to children across Key Stage 1 and 2, whilst taking a Teaching for Mastery approach into account.
Several exercises will be worked on that require mathematical thinking to be developed. After examples of this thinking have been verbalised alongside practical/pictorial modelling, participants will be set up to work in pairs and practice doing so in a similar way.'

Course aim:
To become familiar with the Revised EYFS 2021 and reflect how this will impact on day-to-day provision and practice within reading
